hello, i wonder if anyone knows the real

answers as to just how one can retire in
kunming. i hold canadian and u.s. passports, am retired, have ample pension and $ in the bank. does anyone know how its done ? is there a reliable company or lawyer in kunming who can assist. my goal is to simply retire in kunming, study, and do research on my own and buy a small apartment.

I think it is very difficult to get permanent residence. You need to have invested a very large sum of money or be married to a chinese national for more than 5 years living here for at least 9 months a year. Temporary residence is possible if you are married to a chinese national or have a company in China.

Your best bet may be a student visa if you are planning to enrol in classes. Failing that you'll just need to go to Hong Kong every few months and get a new business or tourist visa.

I have a one year multi entry visa good for 60 days a visit,can that be extended beyond 60 days while in kunming.
