The May Fourth Movement, which occurred 100 years ago this Saturday would, in my opinion be a much more significant day to celebrate for China and the CPC.

Yes, nothing like a student demonstration to liven up the day.

Just another example of how the Chinese government would maybe on one hand want to celebrate it, but then again maybe not.

Just FYI, the May Fourth demonstrations were originally planned for May First but got postponed.

China will be celebrating May 4th this year. I have just seen it on the telly.

The leader of the May Fourth movement was Chen Duxiu the founder of the Chinese Communist Party.
