As we all know, English is an international language. in the world, the countries are the most amount of using English than other languages. Now I am a graduate student. I will use English in every aera in later days. For example, if I deliver paper in later days. I must use English to accomplishing my paper. And after I graduated my schoolwork. I will seek a job, of course, most of companies demand people English level, in other words, personnel must can listen and write English article daily.

The English is one of most widely used languages in the world, some speak it as their native language, like United States and Britain, some speak it as their second language, like Indian and Singapore. It’s also use as official language in most economic forums and academic forums. Can one speaks English fluently become an indicator of the people who whether keep in pace with the development of the world or not. With the repaid progress of international exchanges, there are more and more chances for us to communicate with people all over the world, it’s an opportunity for the young, but also a challenge. On the one hand, it bring the new idea and technology to us, on the other hand, it require one should have ability to join in the communication.
For the one who want to be a scholar, the importance of English is more obvious. The most important thing is that nearly 90 percent passages published in Journals like Science are use English, someone might be ignorant of many scientific facts without the help of English, but, if one learn English well will have advantages to learn modern science and technology faster and better from developed country. And the classical publications in modern science are written by English, we may lose the true quintessence of it by translations. One who with good English, closed to those materials witch enrich us knowledge of entering the modern science, will gain advantages in future study, meanwhile, for the people who like US TV series, it might be more fun to follow television programs and enjoy films, and we can find lot of fun when reading English literatures.
In a word, English is very useful tool, not only enrich our mind, but also enlarge our horizons of world.

I am watching a teleplay which name is the game of power.It's not overstatement for me to say this is the best tv play I ever seen.And just cuz learning english,I can enjoy the exciting and wonderful epitasis of the tvplay.And I can understand the feeling and emotion of the character.English is a bridge for me to kown about the world.

I think it is quite a good question for me.

When I was an undergraduate student,I didn't like English so I spend a few time studying it.But now I find it's a terrible choice.

We may not need English if we are going to work after school.However,as a graduate student of Physics and Astronomy School,I can not finish my study with a poor English.The newest and most authoritative papers of science are all writen in English.So tell me how can a student major in physics can study well without a proficient English.I think it's an important reason for me to answer the question.Besides,I not only want to study my specialized knowlege well but also want to get a better educantion from the better countries.And it's another reason for me to study English.

So I think we should learn English because we have to use it to get something that we can not get in China such like frontier technology and knowlege.We have to learn English well so that we can learn more things not just complacent and conservative.

In short,studying English is a good way to change our lifes and make our future becomes better.

Up to now,we have learned English so many years.Through my English is poor but many of us know why we learn English.

First,English is a powerful platform of professional,more and more place use English as second language.If we take a trip out of the world but we don't speak English very well,we will hard to come come true the trip.

Second ,if we want to get the diploma,we must past English test from school.Especially,when we take university entrance examination,we must hard learn our English because it is one of the three major disciplines.

Last but not least,if we want to be successful,we need to learn more and more knowledge,and face more and more foreign advanced culture,we should learn English hard,so that we can learn those culture.

English is very important in international. We need to use English to communicate. And we also need to read many foreign literatures to get knowledge and to write dissertation in English. The main reason for those is the western country has the most advanced technology,So if we want to study better, we must do it. To my English has been learning from middle school to today. why do we learn English for so many years?

First of all, learn English has enabled me to know well another language, and it could communicating with each other more conveniently in the world. Secondly, Learning English allows me to see different colors of the world, it can understand other cultures of the world, and let me have cultural exchanges. Finally, it makes me more specialized in learning knowledge. Therefore, our study of English is lasting.

A good idea would be for the students to start a new thread/s with the topic of their physics major. Not only would this be very interesting, it would be ideal practice for using English in their field.
