In the video they are saying "You'll never be Chinese" in the sense of
no matter how much you try to assimilate or how long you have lived here or how much Chinese you know or how much you contribute to 'Chinese society' (paying taxes, contributing to the economy, buy a house, have a Chinese wife, etc. They will always only see you as a 'tourist'. The majority of other countries don't do that. Like they point out in the video, in other to get a 'green card' you have to be rich investor or defector with secrets to give them or famous. Anyway, that's how it is now and who knows what the future will be.

I know, you've said that. Its going round in circles.
You will never be Chinese - because you aren't.
Am I still failing to see the problem?

Yes. Just skip this thread. It's obvious to deep for you. Ha.Ha.
Well the goalposts keep changing.
One minute its terrible how we can't be Chinese citizens.
Next our nationality all depends on who we get married to.
Then its you just want acceptance as a local.
Then it turns out its all just for convenience of working without a work visa.
Why isnt China America???? Why isn't the world ran around me???? Why can't I get a job not on the basis of qualification but on where my wife is from???? Are those the questions you need answering?

Skip this thread. It's too much for you. Try the "Trying to buy a dog" thread. It'll be easier on your brain. Ha.Ha.
I can see its hilarious for you to meet with someone with an opposite view.
Ah, that old nutshell, the you're not intelligent enough to catch my drift.
This is a matter or opinion surely, not intelligence. Or did that give you a good ego stroke to type that out?

Lighten up snowflake. Just pulling your chain.
It started as ,''you'll
never be chinese '' as in title of YouTube video. but then
napoleons moved the goalposts
One thing to consider.
You could live here your whole life, get married, have children, buy a house, have your career and retire here. However, if you wife then dies before you, you have no right to stay. If you are by then over mandatory retirement age, you cannot get a work permit either.
There are illegal aliens in the US who have been deported after many years, and have no roots or connections in their mother land. This is unfortunate, but this is rare. There are by contrast a lot of 'lifers' in China, working legally, who may one day find themselves having to repatriate, with no connections to return to. Possibly their only lifelong connection being the IRS.
@tigertiger
Excellent point. It sucks all around. Not all of us making China our home are in their 20's or 30's.
