If you pay everything up front you get a small discount. Paying as you go will be a bit pricier. surgery, tooth extraction and exrays are extra. Exrays are Generally 100rmb. I had to pay 600rmb for minor surgery. Eep.

Sounds good. I hate paying for lengthy services up front because if there is a problem or I move or whatever, then I don't have much recourse. I have found that in China, businesses that provide a service are very reluctant to refund money to you even for very valid reasons.
Getting a refund in China is like pulling teeth :)
Nice one, but it really is. A while back I brought my kid to an outside jump blow-up playhouse thing. It literally started to rain, I mean pour, about 1 minute after I paid. The fun was over. But they did not want to give me money back. After talking for 5 minutes, they eventually said I could come back another time for 'free'.
We've gone to the Lanchie Dental Clinic at the VC Park several times and have been very happy with the service and results. The orthodontist there speaks decent English and seems very up-to-date on modern orthodontistry. They offer the standard metal braces, ceramic "tooth colored" ones, the kind that goes behind the teeth (so it's not seen), and invisalign.
I also saw another dentist that advertised braces (Invisalign) just east of Metro on the south side of the road (北辰大道).
