couple of days ago was ad for free networking event for teachers, cant seem to see it now. you have to we chat to person. they send no info. is the offer of freee food and drink for a hight paying postions in new high school just a hook for some recruitet to build a wechat group??? has anyone else contacted these peopel? did they get back to you?
You are an English teacher ????
Hi Dazzer, I posted that on behalf of the company I work for. I pulled the ad because a couple of the executives told us this morning that they won't be in Kunming at the time. As these executives represent a lot of job opportunities between them we thought it best to postpone the event until they are able to attend.
When it had been rescheduled I will post the details on this website. I assure you that I have no interest in building a we chat group, we chat is only being used to filter out unsuitable candidates as we only have a limited number of spaces available and it is obviously best for recruiters and candidates alike if the spaces go to viable teachers.
Our apologies for any inconvenience caused and we hope that you can attend the future event and find rewarding job opportunities.
Hi Eliot.
I also responded to this. It looks like this is more of a pure recruitment event, rather than networking. It might be better to say so more directly in the next advert, to prevent misunderstandings.
When I asked for details of the event for a second time, using your Wechat contact, I received a reply that said, "But I can't see any your picture or introduction from your Wechat". I don't have any pictures or introduction on Wechat that I share with the world. I then asked on Wechat what information your contact person wanted to know, but no reply; again.
However, if a request was made for such information in an advert, and an email were provided, I would be happy to provide such information with a more verifiable contact.
TT
hands up, who thinks wechat is a proffesional way to do business? me thinks only if relationship already established.
I would agree with you Dazzer, wechat should be used after the relationship has been established.
to many people give out their wechat to potential employers with out thinking about what personal details they are sharing, it is akin to giving your potential employer access to your facebook account.
with all your drunk posts, angry posts, intimate posts, posts that you would not want your future boss to see.
I learnt this the hard way, once applying for a job i supplyed the company with my wechat details, and the HR girl started sending pictures of my children to all her friends and was showing them all around the office, to say that i was not pleased is an understatement.
sending your wechat, or personal phone number may seem harmless...it sadly is not. its a treasure trove of info, used agaisnt illegal workers.
Why would it be a treasure trove of information against illegal workers?
A) So what if it is?
B) Why are they posting their visas all over Wechat for all and sundry to see?
C) How can you tell an illegal immigrant just by their Wechat?
@Nap wechat is connected to a telephone number, which is in turn registered to an ID card or in the case of foreginers, a passport. The authorities can check what visas have been given to that passport number. They can almost certainly access anyone's wechat posts, regardless of whatever privacy settings you have, and see pictures, messages and posts. These can then be used to build up evidence, which can be used in court or however they want to use it.
No, originally a number is needed for sign up, then you can change your sign in ID to whatever you want.
Eventually, you wont use that number and someone else will use it to register for their WeChat. You will get a message to say that another user has used the telephone number you did for sign up, can you confirm you no longer use the number.
You can sign up with any telephone number, it can be your friends, you only need it the first time you use the application and after that, do as you like.
It's an international application, very popular in Vietnam and the Mid East, doubt anyone is checking like you are saying.
Look how many people do business over WeChat, yet I bet the tax bureau isn't on the WeChat server checking who owes what.
I think it's just part of the illegal immigrant psyche, looking over their shoulders, suspicious of everything, not trusting anyone yet not sodding off home or becoming legal - instead blaming ''The System''
