Need to send package to Europe

Fluffy (4 posts) • 0

Hello fellas, wondering if anyone had some information to help me out.

I need to send a small package back to Norway, under 2 kg. I'm wondering where I need to go to do this and if there is normally any complications I should be aware of.

Thanks !

I'm using JetGet logistics, Kunming. www.jetget.com.cn Whilst they deal with any size or volume, there maybe better options for 2kg. JetGet very easy to deal with, no fuss, clear pricing and policies, everything handled including customs clearance. They were recommended to me by Thai-Cargo and they are agents for Thai.

If you are sending by China Post (EMS), you have to pack the items in front of them, at the depot. There are some not so obvious forbidden items (including magnetic cassette tapes).

Is this correct, tiger? I have sent documents (not packages) by EMS but packed them at the local post office, didn't have to go to the depot.

I've sent many things overseas by EMS.. no need to pack things with a witness. Call any shipping company that ships overseas and they can come to your home and pick up.

No knives. Don't try to send back that big Chinese cleaver :)

Pretty sure no alcohol either, though not sure about wine, not that anyone would bother to post a bottle of Great Wall wine to Europe.

Thanks a lot guys. It seems to me the Ems solution should work out fine.
Where is the office ? Anyone have address or the Chinese name of this post office ?

Any post office can handle EMS. Note that if you want to send internationally, you will have to present your passport.

You cannot send cassettes, USB drives, hard drives or any other digital media internationally from China.

Also, if you can find a 顺丰 (express delivery company) office nearby, you might want to try them. They've just opened their international service, and are offering free/discounted delivery vouchers.

Probably of no interest to the OP.

I've specifically asked about digital gear including backup drives etc. The company I'm dealing with (link above) have categorically stated the only restriction on that type of cargo is that it must not contain a battery. Just had this confirmed.
