Does anyone currently work at Kunming university or happen to know someone who knows who to contact there about English teaching vacancies?

Which University? There are a lot.

Used to be a place on Renminxilu called Kunming University (or maybe it was called a xueyuan). Seems not to be operating now, or maybe it moved. I had a friend who taught there.

Unless there's been some recent change that I don't know about, which I seriously doubt, Yunnan Normal does hire foreign English teachers, as do the numerous other universities in Kunming.
