I heard that 外婆家 food, like many of those kind of restaurants, is not made on premises, rather is is just heated up and served.

I really like Guyuan (故园) near DT Bar. It's in an old courtyard house with a beautiful garden. They serve Tengchong cuisine, as well as general Yunnan fare. Great place to take guests in town.

There could be some truth in that as the food there never arrives piping hot. Perhaps it is just heated and served.

Yet, on your way to the lift to get to the car park you pass a big kitchen for the restaurant.

I'm not sure what goes on with the food before it reaches the table, but I like most of the stuff on their menu.

Mana right beside Salvador's on Wen Hua Xiang just beside Wen Lin Jie is just grrreat!
