I was told to do authorized someone to get it at the public security bureau but they say they need my finger prints, they told me to do my finger print at the Chinese embassy in my country but they told me they can't do it. what do I do?? is there a consultant that can help me.
thank you very much.
ask Chinese embassy in Canada to contact public security bureau in Kunming.
My goodness - what madness - all that crap just to get a piece of paper.
Lesson Learned - Rule #1 - Never leave China without getting a certificate of No crimminal record.
Good luck in doing all this since you are already outside of China.
Odd that it's difficult to get the Chinese bureaucracy to provide certificates of No criminal record, since they demand that of many foreigners who want to come to China on other than tourist visas. They might want to get their act together better, left hand perhaps not always aware of what the right hand is doing.
left May not know what the right is doing. But sure knows what the third leg is doing
I will get a certificate the next time I go renew my visa. I have been here for 12 years so I must provide 2 passports and a whole lot of copies of all my visas to get this certificate.
Best to have it before I need it.
Here is how I did it in the past:
I went to the Gong Zheng Chu (公正处) along with my passport, my last registration of address certificate, 300ish RMB and a completed form that I got from the counter. (I may have needed 2 passport photos - can't remember)
I had to pay in advance and they mentioned there was a risk that if I hadn't lived at any address previous address in that city for more than a year that they couldn't complete the process and the certificate wouldn't be forthcoming.
The certificate comes in 2 languages as standard, some languages require an added fee but English, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese and Korean do not.
The certificate requires 2 weeks to process, upon which you have to pick it up from the office or request it forwarded to you in another city.
The process has to be done in person and I have no idea how it could be done from outside China.
I should point out that I haven't had to do this in Kunming yet so all this experience is from offices in other cities I have lived.
@Napoleon: who asks for these things? Sounds like an annoying process.
