@Haali

If I live in Zimbabwe why do I post here?

Because I live in Kunming.

Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer. I would presume you are on this forum for the same reason, no?

@Dudeson

"While you're at it, I think we should drop Math and replace it with Maths, there you go, education system enhanced 10 fold."...-explains your train of thought, about good and better education. I hope you are not a teacher, using correct spelling as you teaching focus.

While we are being pedantic, the only spelling mistake in all that was yours. Yes, I am a teacher and I use correct spelling, goodness knows what you use.

My dear napoleon
I didn't know I had an English class with you, because if I would prefer someone that always uses perfect grammar and spelling. And not someone that is as bad in English, as I am.

Now let me clarify, IMO, -If you would be a good teacher, you wouldn't insist on being right, and if you are a professional teacher you would also know why? Am I correct?

Now, as a teacher you should know, that both math and maths, can both be used. I don't mind, I don't care, and I am aware of that.

I will never bust anyone for incorrect spelling and grammar. It's annoying, it's d*ckish, patronizing, arrogant, unnecessary, and useless, -since a forum is communication tool/toy and not a tutor class. It's already hard to find proper arguments in forums, now if everyone makes it a spelling bee, it would be completely useless. Agreed?

Is a class [passive aggressive spelling corrections] and focusing on something so irrelevant, to the argument or opinion stated,...really useful?
What have you, or I gained?

The spelling is the same, the outcome is the same, there is absolutely no progress from before. So what's the use?

So I recommend, to everytone, to open a thread about English spelling, grammar and punctuation, when it bothers you [plural] soooooooooo much, that someone, didn't take the time, or effort, to find the right letters on the keyboard, didn't give a crap to proofread, or just won't agree with your idea of a spelling that may be different anyway, in the 4 or more version of this NATIVE ENGLISH language.

Plus, it's a forum in a non-native English speaking country, if you expect perfect spelling for everyone, I don't have to say who is the fool, then!!!

May I [also] ask you, if it is what you usually do, when you lack words to retort, that you find weaknesses [existing, or not] of the opponent, to put yourself in a [perceived] better or stronger position.
Why do you do it?
Does it make you feel better? Or smarter?
Does it bring more weight to the argument?

Do you want to show, that I am a worse or better person? Or professional? You could just say so.

I don't really get that "imperfection-pointy-outty-thingy". You know that we are all imperfect [or perfect,IMO] right?

What I meant by math/maths was the American/British system, not the words themselves.

It must have gone over some heads.

I like that part, counts for all languages, I assume

-"In any case, English usage is rarely guided by logic, and these usage idiosyncrasies are often arbitrary. If you were raised in a part of the world where people say maths, then maths is correct for you, and the same is of course true of math. Don't listen to anyone who says otherwise."-

The Dudeson's raises an interesting point.

Spelling, grammar, pronunciation and even word selection (and meaning) are very regional. It's really difficult to correct without also being wrong.
