Which is better to use Wechat or Whatsapp in China

Harriis (19 posts) • 0

Hi Guys !! I had gone through this interesting article about the high prevalence of usage of We chat by Chinese people.
I wonder which's better,my friends outside China just make a mockery of this application & many of them reported BUGS in this application.

A new report is suggesting Tencent's social messaging service WeChat is rapidly becoming one of the main sources for people in China to share information.

According to the report, the internet is now a must for many Chinese people seeking information, communicating, shopping, and paying for various products and services.

I have never used Whatsapp but I'm a big fan of WeChat.

It's much more popular than anything else here in China and back home.

Its available in many languages, easy to navigate and I've never had any problems with it.

Plenty of people are using it around the world, as I say, It tops Whatsapp where I come from. You should jump in and get yourself an account as you may get pretty lonely using Whatsapp here.

Wechat buggy? Never had a problem with it. Best chat/social communications app on the market. Beats whatsapp & Skype hands down for quality.

I've used Skype to voice chat with my odd in the UK & the call quality was awful. Used Wechat same day and it was clear as a bell.

The title of the post starts with "Which is Better". For me it's simply a matter of who am I trying to communicate with, not which app is technically better.

They all use WeChat! End of story.

Wechat was developed in China, and as such will have been approved by the Chinese authorities, and is to a certain degree under their control. As such it is highly unlikely that it will ever be blocked or interfered with. Unlike other services.

Its pretty easy to get banned on Wechat now. dont send nudies, foul images, or anything regarding sensitive subjects through wechat.

as a primary business communication tool for content involving econo/socio/political issues, wechat is a poor choice even for group casual commentary. its heavy-handed censorship would block a picture of a set meal with some "keyword." very interesting.....:-)))))))) so I canceled the service and .......
the apps god like permission, is a worry. :-)))))) as a matter of fact, i use a dedicated dumb phone for use in china with no contact list and no apps. talking about paranoid, I wear a tinfoil hat all the time. :-)))))))))))
