I had an accident and my chin needs quite a few stitches. Initially went to the Richland but I thought they did a horrible job so now I'm looking into my best option.
My colleagues say I should go to a large state-owned hospital like the Yunda one. These are supposed to have the best care.
other more foreign-minded people tell me to go to the International Clinic, which has foreign doctors and relatively cheap service.
Which shall it be?
yunnan no 1 peoples hosp has a maxofacial and dental departmnet in one. if you want a good job you need to go to maxofacial specialist and like i said in tother post pay the extra, go vip and see consultant surgeon not the trainee
@bluppfisk: I second Yunnan No. 1.
The only reason to go to an international hospital, especially in a town like this, is to get a bit more privacy and comfort, and to have doctors who speak English.
The large state hospitals typically have highly competent doctors, especially for "simpler" things like stitches, bone-setting and basic surgeries. It's just a pain in the ass sometimes navigating through the process of registering, paying and sitting down with the right doctor.
Definitely bring someone along with you, because there will be a bit of running around involved.
Sorry about the chin.
I wasn't even able to find where to start in number 1. I'm in medical university now. Think that's also good, little more welcoming
I heard the new Calmette International hospital is open to out-patients. Top of Beijing Lu, opposite Wal-Mart, just north of Richland.
everythying in china has vip package. you pay 100 to register and are treated different. you may get consultation and treatment in private room. often seperate entrance and waiting area and treatment areas and consultant comes over. also easy to make repeat appointments.
OK - well I've gone to Kunming Medical University's plastic surgery department. They made a much more professional impression than Richland's phoney doctors. They said the wound needs to be reopened but that this has a high risk of infection as it has already started to heal and the flesh is weak. Thanks Richland for fucking me over.
Will post a picture later to name and shame them.
How did teh accident occur?
Most doctors around the world can do stitches, it's one of the easiest things. Any hospital should do fine, especially Chinese doctors because they have so many patients every day, lots of practice and experience!
