The goal of Chinese companies. They're the King and Queen of copying and stealing intellectual property.

There was another article about Xiaomi complaing about other company copying their stuff.

maemae, China is well known for copying.
But the world does not love it, many hate it, and it is also holding Chinese development back.

Where I come from copying like this is a crime.
Socially we despise people that copy like this, it is another form of cheating. In academic circles plagiarism is treated in the same way and many not so smart students try this and are sent home to China with nothing.
Xiaomi will be entering new markets this year, but not with their phones. Why, because they could not sell the phones in Europe or North America, because they are a copy.

Why should/would a Chinese inventor, work for years developing something, for someone else to steal. They get no benefit. That is one of the reasons that there are so few Chinese inventors. A problem the government recognises.

Why did Japan become such a huge economic power, considering it is so small? Because they learned that great wealth can be earned by being technical innovators. And so they stopped copying everyone else and started rewarding innovators with money, and protecting the inventions with copyright law.
I read last year that the Chinese government knows it must introduce IPR, for the reasons of economic development, but has yet to achieve it.

Copying helps people with no technology and low knowledge catch up. Indeed the Japanese also used to copy, but that stopped, and that is when Japan's economy began to really grow. One of the worlds smallest countries became the No2 economy.

I love when China violates IPR. More power to them. IPR = NWO so anytime anyone can cheat or steal from the rich I am happy. Go China!

@HFCAMPO
most of the damage is handed actually towards small and medium sized businesses and not the huge multinational corporations.

and thus the average joe is laid off and whole firms closing,due to copying and stealing IP.

huge corps can take a few hits of stolen IP. small companies can't.

maybe you should reconsider your "one fits all" idea of IPR.

the damage to just german small and mid-sized companies, is multi billion euros each year.

@tigertiger

It is very true of what you said. China is trying hard, but still, there are so many small companies need time and technology to grow. It is not easy.

China gets so many company like that which can only copying thing rather than creating, so when it comes to enterprise transformation, it will cost a lot.

Again, China is trying hard, so are the small and medium sized enterprises. It takes time and costs money, but at least, they are trying.THEM AND THE GOVERNMENT

However, I don't think it is a bad idea to bring the mysterious Yuanmingyuan back to life.

Building the factories in China accelerates the process of technology transfer. Foreign companies get what they deserve by screwing their fellow countrymen out of living wages to exploit cheap labour in China. Too bad a lot of the suckers who are directly affected by these traitorous acts are willing to stand up for the bastard corporations over "stolen" (un)IPR.

I know you hate the NWO as do I but @tigertiger said it best. People first copy to develope their own style. After all we all copy. That's how we learn. When we learn to play the piano, paint,etc. we copy first and after awhile we develope our own sense of creativity. There needs to be respect and laws to protect inventors, artists and the likes because without that innovation dies. When I was much younger I use to like to write songs and dreamt of being a famous songwriter and producer. As I got older the music scene started to change and everything became so synthezed. Drum machines, sequencers, etc. have overtaken creativity. It's to the point now that you don't have to know music. Just sample (steal) other people stuff and call it your own. It's really sad. Every song sounds the same. Even 'Chinese pop' music all sound the same. We are fast approaching the age of 'clones' with no soul.
