I think you should leave it alone.
I will leave it alone. It is incredibly deceptive and manipulative, but I will ignore it and just do my job.
What they are doing is wrong, regardless of the legalities. They are dishonest, deceitful and utterly ignorant of the harm they might be inflicting on students to whom they owe a duty of care. If you're the only one in a position to act, then do something. I've been in this position and I spoke directly to the individuals involved. If they're a couple then there will be a weak link, speak in a non-confrontational way to the person stressing you've got nothing against their beliefs but they should desist. In my case the students were young adults, some of them already unhappy with the situation, I spoke with them pointing out that they should be wary of what's going on and encourage them to speak about it to the school or parents or both. Some of the brighter students could look up Christopher Hitchens if they need an antidote.
Start wearing death metal T-shirts featuring satan. Thailand has a good supply. Make cheap copies of some anti-religious-dogma books at one of the photocopy places and distribute to students :)
play metallica songs backwards in class.
Christianity is a large and diverse part of western culture and was showing a resurgence in the USA over the last several decades.
Instead of hiding from the issue - face it head-on and engage your students in a fair and unbiased manner.
Religions and philosophy are an inherent part of Chinese culture - use the opportunity to help the students see the signs, beware of cults (discuss cults and cult recruitment techniques), and let them choose for themselves - but as well-armed as possible to avoid being sucked into cults and the accompanying forms of mind control.
Religion is akin to a gun, a rock, or dog poop on the sidewalk. In and of itself - it has no value - it's just a thing. How various people choose to manifest their beliefs gives the object value or ignominy.
you cant fight bigotry and zealots on your own. sounds like the school isnt secular at all. there is one school in kuming that usually only recruits born agin tea chers. and sstudents who don't convert can get a hard time from other sturdents
The school system of the UK is mostly Christian. From 5 years old to 18 years old, if you go to church schools (the best schools usually are church schools) you have to pray every day. The one saving grace is that The Church of England is a nice, watered down, barely believing in God (even its leader, the Archbishop of Canterbury will not say that God exists) version of Christianity.
Religious people who try to convert others should burn in hell. But they won't, as it doesn't exist, despite our best efforts to create it on Earth.
various forms of hell exist right here on earth. poverty is a form of hell. sickness is a form of hell. living in a war-torn country is a form of hell. and various other hells to lesser degrees. being married to a chinese girl (joke!).
do other hells exist on other dimensions? possibly, but anyone who claims to know for sure is probably a big fat liar with a funny hat. and with all the hells existing right here on earth, why bother with other hells elsewhere?
