Seems shayu website is only in Chinese. How do you pay the 12 yuan? Do you need a Chinese credit card to pay?

I've been on ExpressVPN for the last 2.5 years. I can't say I recommend this one. Their OSX and Windows clients are crap, and it's not the fastest.
I would not recommend Astril. I signed up so I could check them out. VPN speeds seemed fine but when I found it caused problems with my web browser when i was not connected and they could not fix it I asked to cancel within the 7 day free trial and they are doing everything to say no.
@wonderer i have no such problems. i used to but then changed my settings to different vpn mode, or not automatically use a proxy. or the setting for only use vpn on selected sites. can't remember which. this is using chrome browser. contact astril customer service with a different question and you might get the response you need also remember your first call centre opo might have been a newbie, maybe you get someone better next time you are for tech assist as possed to complaint
With ExpressVPN, I have this list of 2 dozen servers I can connect to, but the only server that really works properly most of the time is Hong Kong. Sometimes Singapore or LA will work, but usually anything other than HK is too slow to be usable. I'm talking dial-up speed here.
For ExpressVPN I find it'll be slow if you try to connect to the "recommended" list except for Hong Kong. Usually Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia, and Singapore are good enough for Youtube.
Also I find if I "fake" connect to three or four other random countries first by cancelling before it finishes connecting the speed is usually much faster.
Their Android client is also much better than their desktop clients.
Just renewed my Astrill one-year subscription without searching for any new providers. They offer decent service (incl. Android-/Apple-App & DD-WRT Router support) for a good price. Since the gov now also block google-Market like crazy, a VPN is unfortunatly indispensable in China. Tried a lot of VPN's in the past... including ExpressVPN and all the other usual suspects, but stick with Astrill for now. They are fast in response, finding workarounds (especially for users in China) if the gods get blocking-crazy again. A lot of servers, decent speed (depends on your line of course). I dont get any money writing this here... just had a lot of trials with other VPN providers and got very tired searching. It's sad that we need VPN... i would like to save that money for something useful instead, but it is what it is.
OH, and yes, my friends have much better sucess with Astril. But I already paid for one year of ExpressVPN, and it's good enough for me :P
@jeanie86:
You wrote with $6/month it's cheaper than what? Astrill is $5.83 at the moment...
