My studies were pretty broad. Syntax, Semantics, Pragmatics, Sociolinguistics, phonology, Linguistic ideology, phonetics, post structuralism (a favourite)....... We could start with a 'What is....?' type paper. For example LANGUAGE IDEOLOGY by Kathryn Woolard, which describes and discusses conceptions of language ideology? I have a disk full of pdfs, and can easily e-mail it to everyone?

As the first text, I suggest "Knowledge of Language" by Noam Chomsky.

"Knowledge of Language" looks interesting. I haven't read it. Maybe we could read the introduction for the first meeting? Does anyone have a copy?

Are people still interested in meeting up? If so please send your email addresses to dianchiados@gmail.com so that I can email the introduction of "Knowledge of Language" by Noam Chomsky as the reading for the first meeting.
