Hey guys,
Need to get a work visa in the next month or two, in your guy's experience, which is the best and quickest place to go? I've heard you can also go to Vietnam, has anyone ever done this? If you have, I can treat you to dinner or something if you can fill me in on the process. Thanks!
to get a working visa in Yunnan, you have to open your own company;
and deposit 30k euro in a chinese bank.
otherwise working in a school as teacher.
Otherwise set up a company in HK.
Sorry, I meant Z Visa! Where a school would sponsor me to get a visa.
To work at a langauge school in China which can offer a work visa you need to be a native speaker, have a degree, a TEFL-type qualification and some teaching experience. If you have all these, you can simply apply for a job. If not, then you won't be able to work in legitimate school and therefore no work visa.
... Nobody actualy seems to be answering your question, sorry about that.
Even though Vietnam may be closer, I have heard from friends who have done it in both places that Thailand is easier.
If I was you I'd go with Thailand or HK.
Note that if you are applying in HK (and prob Thailand/Vietnam) your paperwork from the employer needs to explicitly say that you will be applying at that location, and not your home country. Last time I wa in HK, numerous people were turned away from the visa processing offices and told to go to the country listed on the forms (usually their home country). HK has become way more stringent than they used to be.
Yep, always tell your employer where you will be going to get the visa. Then they can list that location on all your documents.
Thanks guys! I appreciate it.
Hey guys great information here! Im from St.Louis, Missouri, USA and I am a complete newbie in Kunming. I have heard that obtaining a work visa in Yunnan is pretty difficult to obtain especially if you are applying for a position outside of English teaching. Does any know the Chinese Govt. qualifications for an independent company in Yunnan to extend a request for an invitation from a duly authorized unit on my behalf?
