Flying umbrellas, larger-than-life balloons, giant kites floating over the audience, and the biggest snow globe you’ve ever seen will make you gasp in wonder and laugh until it hurts.
Ride the wind and dream with Air Play, a modern spectacle that brings to life the very air we breathe. Air Play is a circus-style adventure of two siblings journeying through a surreal land of air, transforming the ordinary into objects of uncommon beauty. Fabrics dance in the wind, balloons have a mind of their own, confetti turns into the night sky, and an enormous canopy of hovering silk forever alters their future.
Air Play is an innovative and spectacular new show for audiences of all ages created by Seth Bloom and Christina Gelsone, the world famous Acrobuffos comedic duo from New York City. Air Play plays big and successfully merges the high-flying art of Daniel Wurtzel’s ground-breaking air sculptures with the Acrobuffos crowd-pleasing comedy. Daniel Wurtzel is best known for his kinetic sculptures and installations using air and lightweight material that fly. His paper tornado was center stage at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony in front of a worldwide audience. The colour palate and themes of the show are inspired by the paintings of Joan Miro and Wassily Kandinsky. All the elements contribute to colorful and dreamy imageries with warm and touching ambience. With visual images seemingly sewn from the sky, this poetic ode to childhood will enchant and electrify the young and young at heart.
