Giulio is an experienced and all-round musician - with more than 20 years of playing bass
guitar in various funk and rock bands since his teens, to producing electronic music, to DJing
and playing live techno, Giulio is an instrumentalist, performer and producer, as well as a
teacher of all the above.
His first interaction with Ableton Live happened back in 2004. From then onwards, Giulio
spent a lot of his time and energy to learn more, constantly broadening his knowledge.
Giulio graduated from APM Institute in music production in his native Italy, where he
learned about sound acoustics, MIDI protocol, ProTools, Logic Pro, songwriting and studio
recording. During his life in Spain he started DJing (2006) but also developed as an Audio &
Visual technician, as well as mixing and mastering engineer. He attended every Ableton Live
course available that later made him into an established lecturer, teaching Ableton Live in
Ibiza, Mexico, Italy, Spain and now China.
Giulio currently teaches production, mixing and mastering in Ableton Live in CTRL Music
Academy (focused on electronic music production for teenagers and adults) and ROLLING
MUSIC School for children aged 10-15 where aside from Ableton classes he teaches basic
music theory and bass.
Giulio also organized monthly livestream courses of Ableton Live on PYRO TV and interactive
workshops at Crazy Lotus Festival.
He’s a well known figure in Shanghai’s night life, playing funk, disco and minimal techno.
Giulio performs Live Techno changing and twisting the reality of sound into a new,
unexplored territory for the ears. Aside from that, he’s involved in several projects that
combine electronic music and live instruments: Queen of Shanghai, Sparkling Elements, he
toured with Dolce Wang and still plays bass in Xiban Project and Tappeti Volanti.
