Coffee is ok but I don't know how long have their food been sitting in the freezer? Unfortunately what I tried was not as I expected.
Tried their "Cinco de Mayo" quesadilla at 17 Y. Very disappointing--just a flour tortilla with no cheese or filling, just a mango chutney. Los Gauchos coffee was so-so.
A bit too much of a starbucks wannabe for me. But i do like the logo on the mugs and the black sofas. Quiet and smoke free is good, and they have some chairs outside.
The food is mediocre and it seems they are not very original (to much like the silver spoon). A bit pricey too for all their items.
I like that they are trying to sell their bean around town.

I tried Iced Mocha there that was amazing, actually that is the best drink I have in Kunming. Plus quite environment, I spent all my weekends there. The staff speak fluent English and warmly helped me choosing drinks. unforgetable experience.
I went there on opening day and had a great experience! The atmosphere is amazing. It is obvious that a lot of time and hard work was put into it. You might think you're at a coffee shop back in the states. The colors are great and the place just feels relaxing. Due to a high ceiling, it also seems much more spacious than the places around Wenlin Jie. There is also a fireplace (fake), but still radiates heat. Curl up with a magazine (they have a pretty good collection...Sports Illustrated, Time, National Geographic, etc.) or a book from the book shelf and you might never leave!
As far as the coffee, it was great! A tad on the expensive side, but worth it. They don't have a huge selection of baked goods, but I had a strawberry muffin that was quite tasty. I also saw cookies, zucchini bread, and mini cheesecakes (my friend had one and said it was good). They also had some imported sodas (Dr. Pepper, Cherry Coke, etc.). They said they would add sandwiches soon, but they don't have them yet.
